You should get your puppy or kitten spayed or neutered by your vet before its first heat cycle at around six months old.

Several diseases can hurt your puppy or kitten, some of which can cause significant and life-threatening health problems. You must have your pet get a series of vaccinations to protect it from multiple severe illnesses. Core vaccines for dogs include rabies, distemper, parvovirus, and canine hepatitis, while core vaccines for cats include rabies, distemper, calicivirus, and feline herpesvirus.
